Chris Young has not only signed up to tour with  fellow country music star Jason Aldean, but he's announced some of his own concert dates as well. After arriving on the country music scene back in 2006, this will be his first real stab at his own headlining tour dates even though there has not been any official announcement; although there are solo tour dates within his schedule. Chris Young’s “Neon” Debuts at #2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums
Over the last week more than 72,000 Chris Young fans confirmed their favorite color is Neon! The Grammy nominated singer/songwriter’s just-released third album sold more than 72,000 copies in its opening week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Declared by USA Today as “one of country’s most reliable hitmakers,” Neon by Chris Young debuts at #2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, marking the singer’s top sales chart position ever.

After learning the news of his album debut, Young shares: “I am completely blown away by the response and am so grateful for my awesome fans who give me the chance to make and share my music every day.”

The album’s lead single “Tomorrow,” makes the leap to #2 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and Country Aircheck. Young’s RIAA certified GOLD lead single has sold over 615,000 downloads, making it his best-selling digital track to date.

Next up for Young is an appearance on ABC-TV’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on July 27 where he’ll perform songs from the recently released Neon.  .. Chris Young Plans Tour Dates, Concerts and Media Appearances for Release of ‘Neon’ -
With less than a week to go until the release of his highly anticipated third album, Neon, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Chris Young is readying for what will be a jam-packed week of media appearances and tour dates.

On Tuesday, July 12, Chris Young will celebrate the release of Neon with his first appearance on ABC-TV’s Good Morning America where he’ll perform his GOLD selling smash single “Tomorrow.” The single, which is at #5 on the Billboard and Mediabase charts, was recently certified by the RIAA with sales surpassing 550,000 digital downloads.

That same day fans can also get an intimate behind-the-scenes look into his busy world when Young’s “A Day In The Life” debuts on AOL Music and The Boot. The cameras were rolling in Nashville during CMA Music Fest at Young’s 10th annual fan club party and first appearance at LP Field in front of a packed house of 65,000 concertgoers.

While in the northeast, Chris Young is also planning appearances on Fox News and Better TV. He’ll also entertain fans with a full band set from The Headliner in Neptune, NJ the night Neon releases.

Afterwards, he will head south to join the Jason Aldean sold-out My Kinda Party Tour with stops in Orange Beach, AL (7/14), Tampa, FL (7/15), and West Palm Beach (7/16) with additional dates booked throughout the remainder of the year.

Chris Young Biography
The grandson of one-time Louisiana Hayride performer Richard Yates, country singer and songwriter Chris Young hails from Murfreesboro, TN, and first drew the public's attention when he appeared on the Nashville Star television show in 2006. Young's singing abilities first surfaced in children's theater productions in grade school, and with his family's full support, he threw himself into learning all he could about music, and country music in particular. By the time he was a senior in high school he was already playing clubs in the Nashville area, and his self-released debut album was out before he even graduated from high school. Young attended college at Belmont University in Nashville and then Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, all while still managing to do some 150 live shows a year. He was offered and accepted a gig fronting the house band at Cowboy's in Arlington, TX, and it was there that a fan kept insisting that he audition for the Nashville Star TV show. Young eventually made the trip to Houston and passed the audition, and the whole affair paid off handsomely with a contract from RCA Records. Young's debut single, "Drinkin' Me Lonely," a song he wrote with Larry Wayne Clark, was released in 2006, followed later in the year by a Buddy Cannon-produced album called simply Chris Young.

A second album, The Man I Want to Be, produced by James Stroud, appeared in 2009. That album netted the singer three No. 1 singles, "Gettin' You Home," "The Man I Want to Be" and "Voices." Neon, Young's third album for RCA, is scheduled to bow in summer 2012.  .... full Chris Young biography
